Manchester United’s midfielder, Fred, appears to be heading for a permanent transfer to Galatasaray, as reported by Turkish daily Takvim.

The 30-year-old player, who joined Manchester United from Shakhtar Donetsk for €59 million in 2018, has made significant contributions with 213 appearances, 14 goals, and 19 assists for the English giants.

Despite helping the team secure the EFL Cup last term, Fred faces uncertainty in his future at Manchester United, as he is in the final year of his contract.

Manager Erik ten Hag aims to offload Fred this summer to enhance the transfer budget and accommodate potential signings like Sofyan Amrabat.

Although Fulham and the Saudi Pro League have shown interest, Galatasaray appears to be the likelier destination.

The Turkish giants have intensified their efforts to secure Fred’s signature, and the Brazilian has reportedly agreed to a contract worth €3 million annually.

Galatasaray is currently in talks with Manchester United over the transfer deal.

However, the English club is seeking €23.3 million (£20 million) for the midfielder, and it remains to be seen if Galatasaray will meet this valuation.

Galatasaray’s recent additions include Wilfried Zaha, Angelino, Cedric Bakambu, and they are also pursuing Mauro Icardi from Paris Saint-Germain.

Their qualification for the UEFA Champions League proper depends on their performance in the upcoming season, having won the Turkish Super Lig last season.

Manchester United make €35 million offer for Sofyan Amrabat

During a busy summer transfer window, Manchester United has secured two significant additions to their squad.

They completed the signings of Mason Mount and Andre Onana, spending a total of over €115 million on these acquisitions.

The English giants are not stopping there and are currently in talks to bring striker Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta to Old Trafford.

Manager Erik ten Hag has expressed the desire to bolster the defensive midfield position and has identified Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat as his target.

Having previously worked with Amrabat at FC Utrecht, Ten Hag has made a substantial offer of €35 million for the Moroccan international.

However, before finalizing Amrabat’s transfer, Manchester United might need to offload some players.

Scott McTominay has caught the attention of West Ham United, but Ten Hag’s preference is to first sell Fred and Donny van de Beek to make room for Amrabat’s potential arrival.
